'American Sniper' hauls in $200 million at box office LOOKS LIKE SOMEBODY LIKES IT...

The Left trashes "American Sniper""American Sniper" is on track to make $200 million in its first ten days

CLIP

Clint Eastwood's Oscar nominated film "American Sniper" opened to rave reviews and record box office receipts (link is external). Because the movie tells the story of real life hero Chris Kyle, it's struck a chord with audiences across the country. But guess who is giving the film a big thumbs down? The left (link is external):

...it’s the late Chris Kyle’s turn to be maligned, mocked, and generally used in a bad-faith campaign to not only delegitimize American self-defense against jihadist terror but also the very character of many men and women in uniform. The pretext for hit pieces against Kyle’s extraordinarily precise military professionalism (please read Chris Mark’s outstanding piece (link is external) on the true nature of America’s snipers) lies in his obvious rage against our jihadist enemies.
Left-wing critics take great outrage at the film because it shows an American soldier who doesn't like the enemey. And that's not all:
And what is Kyle’s offense? They can’t point to any war crimes. They can’t point to any record of dishonorable service. They hate him for despising our enemies. They accuse him of racism.
Ah, racism. The favorite Liberal epitheth that is intended to silence and shame anyone who disagrees with the approved talking points:
What is remarkable about Kyle — and the hundreds of thousands of other Americans who faced hostile fire day after day — is not their rage, but their discipline. Kyle responded to atrocities with anger, but his actions reflected professionalism and precision. That is something new in the sweep of history, where — traditionally — wartime atrocities beget reprisals, which beget even greater atrocities. The American military has broken that cycle. In our wars, the enemy’s atrocities are typically answered with the most precise weapons of warfare in human history — and no weapon was more precise than Chris Kyle’s rifle.
The anti-military left will never admit any of this. But from the reception "American Sniper" is getting at the box office, it's clear Americans know, support, and embrace real heroes when they seen them
