Shooting at Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs[Updated]    By

At least six people have been injured and one gunman remains at large, after a shooting broke out at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, local police told reporters Friday. As of 5:30 p.m. E.S.T., police were still exchanging gunfire with a shooter barricaded inside one of the clinic's windowless offices. Police told the New York Times that the shooter is a "white man in a trench coat with an assault rifle." According to CNN, at least six people have been taken to local hospitals for treatment, though the nature of their injuries has not been disclosed.
While Lt. Kirk Wilson of the Colorado Springs Police Department had told The Colorado Springs Gazette that the shooter was "contained," his collegue Lt. Catherine Buckley later told the Washington Post that authorities "can’t confirm where the shooter is at at this point," and that the situation remains "very active." Buckley told CNN that police had not ruled out the possibility of a hostage situation or a second shooter.
