While speaking from the Senate floor, McConnell said Republicans and Democrats have spent all week negotiating and working around the clock to put together the bipartisan bill — and they actually reached a deal.
Then, Pelosi flew in from California and demanded that Senate Republicans include several new items that she wanted.
After Republicans rejected her demands, Senate Democrats then voted THREE times against proceeding on a bill that they negotiated all week.
During a fiery speech Monday afternoon on the Senate floor, Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins — a moderate who often tries to play nice with Democrats — went scorched earth on Pelosi, Sen. Chuck Schumer, and Democrats.
“Is that what we’ve come to?” the Maine senator said on the Senate floor on Monday as she excoriated Schumer.
“We don’t have another day. We don’t have another hour. We don’t have another minute to delay acting,” she said.
