Emails Show Liberal Effort to Oust O'Reilly

Ousted Fox News host Bill O'Reilly shut down his legal team's last-ditch efforts on his behalf to show proof of a left-wing effort to have him fired, Politico's Joe Pompeo reported.
The legal team for the star host of "The O'Reilly Factor" had in its possession an email from a liberal fundraiser showing her crusade to get O'Reilly ousted from Fox News Channel, Politico reported.
O'Reilly's attorneys wanted to take that evidence to Fox parnt company 21st Century Fox, but the famed conservative voice said no.
"So no formal sending to Rupert [Murdoch] until after the call," O'Reilly said in an email to his attorneys, Politico reported.
The email from Mary Pat Bonner showed her efforts — titled "advertiser education program" — to sway companies to yank their advertising from O'Reilly's show.
The email was ostensibly the source of attorney Marc Kasowitz's statement earlier this week that said O'Reilly was the victim of a "brutal campaign of character assassination," one Kasowitz promised to show proof of at a later time.
But Fox on Wednesday pulled the plug on O'Reilly, saying in a statement that both parties had agreed to part ways.
O'Reilly reportedly will walk away with $25 million in severance.
