The Investigation Into The Las Vegas Shooter’s Plans Took A Very Dark Turn
Information is still trickling in about the Las Vegas shooter and his evil plan.
He opened fire on a country music festival and killed 59 innocents and wounded hundreds more.
But the secret behind his real target has investigators frightened.
Police believe they have evidence showing the gunmen had targeted a nearby fuel tank.
He was hoping to inflict enough damage to cause a massive explosion that would have killed hundreds.
The Las Vegas Review Journal reports:
“Las Vegas Strip mass murderer Stephen Paddock used his Mandalay Bay hotel room to fire bullets at jet fuel tanks Sunday night, a knowledgeable source told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.Fortunately the fuel tanks are built to withstand such damage and have fail-safes in place to prevent an explosion.
The bullets left two holes in one of two circular white tanks. One of the bullets penetrated the tank, but did not cause a fire or explosion near the Route 91 Harvest country music festival, another knowledgeable source said late Wednesday.
The tanks are roughly 1,100 feet from the concert site, where Paddock killed 58 people and wounded almost 500. Several airplane hangars belonging to prominent corporations are also near the tanks.
Within the past couple of days, a construction crew repaired the holes, and FBI agents inspected the tanks and took measurements of the line of fire from Mandalay Bay, the sources said.
Paddock, a 64-year-old Mesquite resident, had broken two windows in his 32nd-floor suite — one in line with the concert site and the other with a direct view of the fuel tanks, one source said.”
The Review Journal also reports:
“A source knowledgeable about airport operations said jet fuel is hard to ignite and tanks like those across from Mandalay Bay have mechanisms in place to prevent fires.Further evidence emerged that the killer was planning an even more deadly attack after police found 50 pounds of explosives in his car. *
Mike Boyd, a Colorado-based aviation consultant, echoed those words.
“A machine gun is not going to blow up a tank of fuel,” Boyd said. “Jet fuel itself sitting there in a big wet pile is very hard to ignite. You have to be a very amateur terrorist to think anything like that.”
KTLA reports:
“Stephen Paddock didn’t just have 23 weapons in his Mandalay Bay hotel suite, which he turned into a sniper’s nest to kill 58 concertgoers in Las Vegas. He also had 50 pounds of explosives material and 1,600 rounds of ammunition in his car in the hotel parking lot, police said.”As horrific and unimaginable as the shooting was, the killer was preparing for an even bigger massacre.
* I think I read that it was some kind of fertilizer, not an explosive material or device. Perhaps he was going to fertilize some plants at home. In order to explode, the fertilizer has to be mixed with other componants. They are GUESSING what Stephen Paddock had in his head. They are also GUESSING that he shot AT the fuel tanks. I'm pretty sure jet fuel has to be atomized to burn.....FAKE NEWS ???
