Some time back in January, Tennessee state Rep. Sheila Butt made a post on her Facebook page in which she asserted that “it is time for a Council of Christian Relations and an NAAWP in this country.” The assumed premise here is that Christians and white people (WP) alike could benefit from the creation of organizations dedicated to ensuring their political, social and economic rights.

According to the Associated Press, upon finding out about the post, the Black Caucus responded by demanding an apology and recommending that Butts “be removed from her leadership position.” Their argument rests on the fact that white supremacists also sometimes use the term NAAWP. Whoodi doo . . .
Butts now claims that the term NAAWP was meant to stand for the “National Association of Advancement for Western Peoples”:
   And does it even matter? When did it became illegal for someone to advocate for a “National Association of Advancement for White People”!?
