Former President Barack Obama presided over a host of failures.
He added over nine trillion to the national debt.
His foreign policies left the world on fire.
But this one failure may be Obama’s most shameful legacy.
Ever since black voters switched their allegiance to the Democrat Party in the 1964 election, two-parent households within their community have declined.
As of 2015, only 17 percent of black children reach the age of 17 with their biological parents still married, and nearly 70 percent of black children are born to single mothers.
Not nearly enough was done in Obama’s eight years of office to combat this problem.
But Obama’s failure to act has its roots in history.
These problems were identified in a report written in the 1960’s by Assistant Secretary of Labor – and future New York Senator – Daniel Patrick Moynihan.
He argued that the nuclear family in the black community was declining.
The drop in two-parent households was not due to a lack of access to economic opportunity, but because of the pathologies within the ghetto culture which dated back to slavery and Jim Crow.
Moynihan also argued that the rise in single parent homes had led to an increase in welfare dependency.
