Twitter Locks Account of GOP Lawmaker Promising to File Impeachment Article Against Biden January 18, 2021 By: TTN Staff

On Sunday, Twitter locked the account of yet another conservative voice for “multiple violations.” The latest GOP member to be subjected to the scrutiny of the social media platform is Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene. Rep. Greene was temporarily locked out of her account for “multiple violations of our civic integrity policy” according to Twitter. Reports say that Greene was involved with a Twitter feud with a Georgia election official before she was suspended from the platform.

The move to lock out Greene from her account comes at a time Twitter faced new scrutiny over alleged censorship of conservatives.

The right-wing guerilla news outlet Project Veritas released a clip last Thursday given to them by a purported Twitter “insider whistleblower” who secretly recorded remarks by CEO Jack Dorsey to staff.

“We know we are focused on one account right now, but this is going to be much bigger than just one account, and it’s going to go on for much longer than just this day, this week, and the next few weeks, and go on beyond the inauguration,” Dorsey said.

Many conservatives saw that comment as a sign of what’s to come.

A heavy-metal guitarist, the alleged leader of a Colorado paramilitary training group and two self-styled militia members from Ohio have been charged with taking part in the riot at the Capitol last week, as the FBI ratchets up its investigation into the role extremist groups played in storming the building.

Jon Schaffer, an Indiana musician, turned himself in to the FBI on Sunday afternoon, officials said. On Jan. 6, Schaffer was photographed inside the Capitol, wearing a hat that said “Oath Keepers Lifetime Member.” Schaffer founded Iced Earth, a heavy-metal band, and music fans quickly recognized him as the FBI circulated wanted posters with his face on them.

Schaffer was charged with six counts, including engaging in an act of physical violence. Authorities said Schaffer was among the rioters who targeted U.S. Capitol Police with bear spray.

But despite the Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol and an FBI assessment that extremist groups plan attacks on government institutions in the coming days, government and industry data indicate that the huge surges of buyers seen earlier in the year have not been repeated since the November election.

Gun sales typically soar in the weeks following the election of a Democratic president, as buyers scurry to purchase firearms for fear that the new chief executive will fulfill campaign promises to tighten regulations on gun sales.

House Democrats to challenge Trump's Electoral College win

As many as 10 members plan to mount objections when Congress meets Friday, but so far no senator has joined them.

A Democratic congresswoman from Texas confirmed late Thursday that she and as many as 10 colleagues will contest the validity of Donald Trump's election Friday, when lawmakers meet at the Capitol to certify Trump's Electoral College victory.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee said in a phone interview that she and her allies plan to challenge the validity of electoral votes in multiple states, where she argued voter suppression tactics may have tainted the outcome. She said a separate batch of challenges will focus on disqualifying electors who may have been ineligible to serve at all.

"This is an American question of justice and fairness and the appropriate running of presidential elections," Jackson Lee said.

Though the Constitution empowers the Electoral College to choose the president, it requires Congress to review the votes and reject any it deems invalid.

Amazon terminated its contract with free speech platform Parler for “violent content on your website.” But Amazon itself deals with merchandise that advocates the death of all Republicans or specifically targets President Donald Trump.

The Media Research Center found at least 204 examples of merchandise sold on Amazon that promoted violence, either toward President Donald Trump, Republicans or members of the police force. Riot gear, including tasers, brass knuckles and stun sticks were also sold. Some of these violent products included a flag with a graphic image of Trump blowing his brains out, a mug with the slogan “Where is Lee Harvey Oswald now that we really need him?” and a black T-shirt with a red slogan, “Kill All Republicans.” The shirt that urged the death of Republicans was even a sponsored listing on Amazon.

Amazon accused Parler of “potential hate speech,” while it is selling actual Nazi memoribilia and jewelry covered with swastikas. And while Americans were outraged at the death of police officer Brian D. Sicknick who was struck with a fire extinguisher at the Capitol riot, Amazon sells at least 130 pieces that condone that kind of violence with the hateful slogan, ACAB (All Cops Are Bastards). That ACAB term is popular with rioting members of Antifa.

The Amazon Terms of Service states, “Amazon does not allow products that promote, incite or glorify hatred, violence, racial, sexual or religious intolerance or promote organizations with such views. We’ll also remove listings that graphically portray violence or victims of violence.” These terms of service do not apply to media. Therefore, the Media Research Center did not examine music, books, television or movies.

Facebook and Twitter have lost a combined $51 billion in market value since banning President Donald trump from their platforms as Americans across the country divest themselves from the companies’ stock offerings.

Yahoo! News reported that Twitter shares dive-bombed more “than 10% on Monday” following its decision to ban President Donald Trump from its site. “Shortly after market open Monday, the stock dropped as much as 12.3% to reach as low as $45.17 per share.” The stock has dropped from $51.48 right before the ban to $47.22 as an opening price today.

As the Business Insider reports, Facebook is losing value as well. Facebook saw $47.6 billion erased from its public valuation, while Twitter’s market cap dropped by $3.5 billion.

Pelosi’s Tweet Claiming 2016 Election was ‘Hijacked’ Gets Free Pass from Twitter

Last week, Twitter permanently suspended President Trump’s account after a pro-Trump protest turned into a violent mob storming the Capitol building. Lawmakers were forced to take cover as impassioned protestors broke into and ransacked the building. Twitter has been cracking down on Trump and conservatives since the election when President Trump began claiming that fraud interfered with the election. The social media platform has marked many of the President’s tweets about the election as “misinformation” and has fact-checked a number of them. However, now that one of Nancy Pelosi’s tweets claiming the 2016 election was “hijacked” has received non of the same treatment. 

 In 2017, Speaker Pelosi tweeted, “Our election was hijacked. There is no question. Congress has a duty to #ProtectOurDemocract & #FollowTheFact.” Clearly referencing the claims that President Trump colluded with Russia to win the election. Pelosi made the statement the day before Robert Mueller’s appointment to the special counsel to investigate the Russian collusion claims.

 Twitter declined to respond to Fox News’ inquiry about whether Pelosi’s tweet violates its policies on misinformation and election integrity. 

 Last week, Twitter concluded that allowing Trump to return to Twitter risked “further incitement of violence.” 

 Highlighting two relatively tame tweets from the president, one of which stated he would not attend Biden’s inauguration on Jan. 20, the company argued that they had to be viewed in a wider context. 

 “These two Tweets must be read in the context of broader events in the country and the ways in which the President’s statements can be mobilized by different audiences, including to incite violence, as well as in the context of the pattern of behavior from this account in recent weeks,” the company said. “After assessing the language in these Tweets against our Glorification of Violence policy, we have determined that these Tweets are in violation of the Glorification of Violence Policy and the user @realDonaldTrump should be immediately permanently suspended from the service.”

The spiritual advisor for both Barack Obama and George W. Bush during their time as President has been sentenced to six years for his role in a multi-million dollar investment fraud scheme. 

Kirbyjon H. Caldwell, 67, was sentenced by US District Judge S. Maurice Hicks on Wednesday in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he and his co-defendant, Gregory Alan Smith, were indicted in 2018.

He spoke at the 2000 Republican National Convention, delivered the benediction at Bush's 2005 inauguration, and officiated his daughter Jenna's 2008 wedding, the New York Times reported

Kirbyjon H. Caldwell, 67, was sentenced by US District Judge S. Maurice Hicks on Wednesday in Shreveport, Louisiana where he and his co-defendant, Gregory Alan Smith, were indicted in 2018.

Caldwell was formerly the Senior Pastor of Windsor Village United Methodist Church, a mega-church in his native Houston, Texas, which has around 14,000 members, the Associated Press reported.

According to the New York Times, he spoke at the 2000 Republican National Convention, delivered the benediction at Bush's 2005 inauguration, and officiated his daughter Jenna's wedding in 2008.

Caldwell supported Obama's 2008 presidential run and was part of a group of Christian pastors who would pray with him as well as being on his healthy fatherhood and family task force, the NYT added.

Through Smith, a 55-year-old, Shreveport-based investment advisor, he began using his influence to persuade people to invest in historical Chinese bonds in early 2013, the Associated Press added.

They were told that they would gain partial bond ownership and would very quickly receive large returns on their investments.

Additionally, they were given "participation agreements" which said if the sale failed then their funds would be returned within a certain period of time, and were told to wire funds into one of the many bank accounts he owned or control.

However, the bonds were historical Chinese ones, issued by the former Republic of China before it lost power to the communist government in 1949.

The bonds aren't recognized by China's current government and have no investment value whatsoever. In fact, they are considered to be collectibles by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Between 2013 and 2014, they made $3.5 million from the scheme. The profits were divided between Caldwell, Smith, and others. The former pastor received $900,000 which he used to maintain his lifestyle and pay down credit cards and mortgages.

In a statement provided by the Department of Justice, Acting US Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook said: "The defendants in this case abused the trust that the victims had placed in them."

"This defendant used his status as the pastor of a mega-church to help convince the many victim investors that they were making a legitimate investment but instead he took their hard-earned money from them and used it for his own personal gain," he continued.

Caldwell was ordered to report to the Bureau of Prisons on June 22, 2021, for conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

Caldwell was also ordered to pay $3,588,500 restitution and a $125,000 fine while his co-defendant, Gregory Alan Smith, was sentenced to six years in prison in November.

With all the military, this looks more like a MILITARY TAKEOVER of the country, rather than an inauguration and PEACEFUL TRANSFER OF POWER.I guess no one will mention UNITY...??

Washington, DC starts security lockdown ahead of Joe Biden’s inauguration

Security is ramping up in Washington, D.C., for next week’s inauguration of Joe Biden as president. 

Members of the National Guard are posted inside and outside of the U.S. Capitol, and on the streets surrounding it. As many as 20,000 troops are expected to arrive in the coming days – the most ever deployed there. 

Presidential inaugurations are usually patriotic displays of the peaceful transition of power. But as Jackson Proskow reports, this time the goal is simply to get through it without any violence.

Allan Dershowitz Says He Won’t Represent President Trump in Senate Impeachment Trial  January 16, 2021

Harvard law school professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz has reportedly said he will not defend President Trump in a possible Senate impeachment trial following reports that he was open to backing Trump again.

Dershowitz, an expert in constitutional and criminal law, represented Trump during his first Senate impeachment trial where the president was acquitted of abuse of power and obstruction of justice charges.

In a statement to the Boston Globe, Dershowitz said he will not participate in a possible second Senate trial against the president.

“This is political theater, and I’m neither a politician or an actor, so I don’t see a role for a real lawyer to play in this show,” he said.

The Washington Post reported Thursday that Dershowitz was open to the prospect of defending Trump again “in the court of public opinion” in an “unofficial capacity.”

In an op-ed for The Hil published Thursday, Dershowitz said while he found Trump’s remarks to his supporters last Wednesday before the Capitol Hill siege “disturbing,” they did not “meet the basis for removal under the Constitution.”

“Just as a president should be held to account for a violation of the Constitution, then so should the House when it exceeds its authority granted by the Constitution,” Dershowitz wrote.

Dershowitz said Democrats’ impeachment violated “six separate provisions of the Constitution.”

“First, it violated the First Amendment, which prohibits the government from abridging free speech. By impeaching Trump for free speech that was protected in the unanimous Supreme Court decision in the case of Brandenburg versus Ohio, the First Amendment was violated,” he explained.
