Teen Facing 3 Murder Charges Allowed To Post Bail, Attend School While Pending Trial Holly Matkin
Houston, TX – An immigrant facing three counts of murder was allowed to bail out of jail and was given permission to attend school while his trial is pending.Ahmedal Tayeb Elnouman Modawi, 17, is not a U.S. citizen and is originally from Sudan, FOX News reported.
He has lived in Houston with his family for the past five years, according to KPRC.
Investigators said Modawi was working as a valet on Oct. 1 when officers tried to pull him over in a parking lot as he was doing donuts in a client’s white Infiniti G37.
The teen refused to stop and sped away, slamming into three other valets in the process, FOX News reported.
He ended up flipping the client’s vehicle and crashed into a fence, injuring himself and a passenger he had in the car.
The 16-year-old passenger was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries to both legs, according to KPRC.
Modawi broke his leg in the collision.
The valets Modawi hit were pronounced dead at the scene, FOX News reported.
They were identified as 18-year-old Fnan Measho, 22-year-old Eric Orduna, and 23-year-old Nick Rodriguez.

Investigators determined Modawi was not intoxicated when the crash occurred, according to FOX News.
He was arrested on three counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault with serious bodily injury and was initially being held on $350,000 bond.
A judge later reduced his bond to just $220,000 and ordered he wear an ankle monitor and be placed under house arrest if he made bail, FOX News reported.
He posted bail over the weekend.
The judge also agreed to let Modawi go to church and school while he awaits his next court hearing on Dec. 15, FOX News reported.
