A man wearing a top hat robbed the TD bank at 37th and Walnut Street in University City around 7 Thursday night. The robber made off with more than $400 and Philadelphia police are looking for him. (Published Friday, Apr 10, 2015)
A bearded man wearing a black top hat held up a University City TD Bank Thursday evening, police tell NBC10.
The man walked into the bank branch located along the 3700 block of Walnut Street on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania just after 7 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money, police said.
The teller turned over an undetermined amount of cash before the man fled on foot.
The thief is described as a man between 30 and 40-years-old with a beard. In addition to the top hat, he was wearing all black clothes and glasses, police said.

Authorities are investigating and no one was hurt.
