Brett Blomme was assigned to Milwaukee County Children’s court allegedly uploaded the porn between October and November of 2020.
As The Washington Free Beacon reports:
Federal investigators allege that Brett Blomme, a Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge, uploaded child pornography on a messaging app in October and November 2020. Blomme was assigned to the Milwaukee County Children’s Court, according to a list of officials on the court’s website.
Kik, the messaging app Blomme allegedly used, flagged the judge’s communications to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, which sparked the federal investigation. Blomme allegedly uploaded 27 videos through the app, according to an affidavit reviewed by Urban Milwaukee. Kik is a popular messaging app among teenagers.
Blomme defeated Paul Dedinsky, former Wisconsin Republican governor Scott Walker’s pick for the bench, in an April election. Before taking the bench in August, Blomme was president and CEO of the Cream City Foundation, a group that distributes grant money to Milwaukee-based LGBTQ groups. He previously served as the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin’s donations director and worked for Rep. Gwen Moore (D., Wis.) and Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett (D.).
